Book Review

The reviewer has already read 3 books that contains of strategies in teaching grammar. Grammar, everyone thinks that grammar is a difficult subject to understand. But it all depends on how the teacher teaches grammar.The title of the first book is Grammar Succes in 20 minutes a day which is written by learning express (2010) that is mention about the succes way to learn grammar. The second book is about word study and english grammar which is written by Frederick W Hamilton (2009), that is mention aboutimportance of the subject and word families. The third book is about Teaching Grammar in Second Language Classroom: integrating form focused instruction in communicative language which is written by Hossein Nassaji aand Sandra Fotos (2011), that is mention about The changing view of grammar instruction. I'm Fardhi Afindra Putra, as the reviewer ,also a student will give a little information gleaned from several books which are useful as a guide to teach grammar, with a focus on the teaching of grammar.
Now we can see people want to say "I chose maths better than English". This statement may make many of us cringe at the English lessons. For example, many civil servants who refuse to take the test toefl. In the book about word study and english grammar, the reviewer find ,why the importance of learning grammar,  because: 1) Lots of incorrect use of grammar, 2) lack of knowledge about the placement of the word. Now tell everyone that learning English is a lesson that is easily understood, because in this book, the reviewer get something if a knowledge about words and relations, ie, rhetoric and grammar is a tool and a very important tool of the student. That means knowledge of the grammar that affects a person to learn the language. I think as a teacher, we must teach the beginner by teaching the most basic components of the grammar.
In the book about Grammar Succes in 20 minutes a day, the reviewer find a quick way to learn grammar is by 1) ​​Understand what the nouns and pronouns 2) Understand what the verb 3) Understanding of modifiers 4) Understanding the structure of sentences 5) Understandingof punctuation. I think here the teachers are required to understand the material. Because every quick way to learn the grammar has a lot of information on each bagiannya. For example about punctuation, punctuation has a wide range of different variations on each use, one exclamation mark that shows strong feeling or command, an example: Open the door!. From these examples it can be seen that the exclamation point has a function as a command, and must be implemented. As one of my students tried to take this information and try out on one of my classes in the future
We not only teach students about grammar, we also have to provide training to students to learn grammar. Inthe book about Teaching Grammar in Second Language Classroom: integrating form focused instruction in communicative language, in one of the discussion in this book, The reviewer get an idea of what type of income or exercises to test the students' development of grammar. For example, with a Focus on Grammar through discourse. Described here the authors focus on attention to grammar in the discourse. By reading the existing discourse can encourage students to have awareness in learning grammar. I think the discourse that should be used is the discourse that appeals to students who will make the students interested in reading and discourse will lead the students to understand grammar at the discourse.

From the above explanation was found why the need to learn grammar because 1) the use of many incorrect grammar, 2) lack of knowledge about the placement of the word. This shows that it is very difficult to learn English. But it can be changed by following in learning express book explanation that describes how quickly learn English. But the real key is knowledge of grammar described in Frederic’s book. Here the role of the teacher is also very important, because here the teacher has an understanding of the lesson. For the addition of students' understanding of grammar, we also do exercises to encourage understanding of grammar. One example of the use of discourse that appeals to students. Because students can read and understand the existing discourse grammar in discourse.
